Summer school to supplement the collosal failure of the regular school year, 'Plus it's free.'Detroit Free Press - June 12, 2009
About one third of all Detroit Public Schools students failed to pass at least one core class this year, including more than a half of third-, fifth- and eighth-graders.

"One day can make a difference," DPS Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb said Thursday as he announced details of the summer school program.
