A Baytown teacher’s aide is under investigation after funds came up missing from a PTO fund at Carver Jones Elementary, police said.
The 26-year-old woman handled monies for the school’s parent/teacher organization and had the ability to write checks on the PTO’s bank account. A discrepancy in the fund came to light when, after a fundraiser was held that should have plumped the PTO account nicely, a $492 check that was written to cover the expense of a school field trip bounced.
